"A Hip-Hop remix to snap your neck to, from two of South African electronic music's chief mavericks, Spoek Mathambo and Micr.Pluto.

Johannesburg based producer, Micr.Pluto, gives Spoek Mathambo's Hawk's In Flight the lush syrupy lofi Hip-Hop treatment he has become so loved for. "Hawk's In Flight" is Spoek Mathambo's heartfelt tribute to his friend and colleague, genius writer/author Phumlani Pikoli aka Hawks (whose debut novel Born Freeloaders won the acclaimed K Sello Duiker Memorial Literary Award).

"Hawk's In Flight" is the second single from Mathambo's upcoming 7th album AFRO JAZZ GIANTS 1: RATAU. The album is a lo-fi adventure, bravely traversing genres, powered by Mathambo’s orchestra of bits and bobs and his unorthodox MC styles. As the project's title suggests, the RATAU album is a tribute to the late genius, South African saxophonist and composer, Mike “Ratau” Makhalemele. "
